KINEXON presents at Hannover Messe 2016
The Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt visits Kinexon
Kinexon as part of the Bitkom Innovation Forum panel discussion to debate about the development of Industry 4.0
Kinexon participated at the Hannover Messe 2016, the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology. From 25th April to 29th April we had the opportunity to present our centimeter-accurate real-time location and motion sensing solution for the digital factory of tomorrow. Highlight of the week was the visit of the German Federal Minister of Transport & Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt at Kinexon’s booth to explore a key technology for the Internet of Things – Made in Germany!
The Hannover Messe provides a high-profile platform to exhibit innovative technology shaped for industrial applications. This year’s fair attracted over 190,000 visitors (up from 175,000 in 2014) intent on future-proofing their operations and investing in state-of-the-art technology. Together with selected companies like Cisco and Capgemini we have been part of the Bitkom Innovation Area, the ultimate Industry 4.0 & Innovation Forum. Our founder and managing director Dr. Alexander Hüttenbrink participated at the Bitkom Innovation Forum panel discussion, debating about how start-ups accelerate the development of Industry 4.0 in conjunction with established businesses. Frank Riemensperger – Senior Managing Director of Accenture Germany – stated, that established businesses need to cooperate with start-ups more than ever as they deliver a higher degree of innovation and agility, which often lacks in established companies.
The idea of Industry 4.0 resembles that of the Internet of Things, as both approaches focus on the real-time interconnection of smart objects, humans and processes. To fulfill this vision, you have to know where your assets, tools, products and vehicles are located and in which status they are at any time. This is where Kinexon comes into the game, as it addresses these needs with a state-of-the art solution. Kinexon delivers a sensor network, which is able to track the position and the status of objects, vehicles and humans. Our system is applied in various ways in the industry. Some examples:
- Tool & Asset Tracking to reduce search times in order to cut costs
- Tracking of forklifts for route optimization as well as tracking of AGVs for increasing the intelligence and flexibility of steering
- Elimination of manual processes to enhance product quality, safety, save spending and protect it with a virtual data room which helps the sharing of confidential documents online.
High-accuracy, an easy set up, and a variety of valuable analytics make up the uniqueness of Kinexon. Through a live demo at our booth, visitors convinced themselves of the centimeter-accuracy and real-time capability of our solution. High-level industry representatives were fascinated by the location data visualized on our smart software application. The highlight among the high degree of attendance and positive resonance was the visit of the German Federal Minister of Transport & Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt at our booth. Along with a high media attention, Alexander Dobrindt enquired about our key technology enabling the digitalization of factories, logistics centers and establishments.
