On November 11, 2014, Kinexon was honored with the Smart Digital Award 2014 by Ilse Aigner (Deputy Minister-President of Bavaria and Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs, Media, Energy and Technology). The award honors innovative ICT startups offering solutions in B2B markets in the sectors automotive, plant engineering, mechanical engineering, energy and healthcare. The award is part of the strategy ‘Bayern Digital’ which stands for a government initiative to foster Bavaria as an international leading region in the context of digital change.
Overall about 50 startups applied for the Smart Digital Award assigned by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology. The jury consisting of renowned representatives from industry, Munich startup ecosystem, and politics nominated five applicants. The winner was awarded during a state reception in the context of the symposium ‘IT2Industry”. The award includes prize money of 2,500 euros.
KINEXON was awarded for its solution KINEXON ONE offering centimeter-accurate localization and motion sensing for the Internet of Things. The solution offers enormous potential for outdoor and indoor applications in retail, industry, healthcare or sports. Especially the fact that the KINEXON solution provides high accuracy combined with a simple and scalable system setup in various markets was honored by the jury.
Thanks to the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology and its industry partners for this great award. The recognition naturally provides further stimulus for the future and will continue to give our young company a boost in matching the upcoming challenges ahead.
