Florida State Basketball: Women’s Team Dribbles into the Future With KINEXON as the Next AWS Flagship Team

Helping to lead the charge with German lighthouse football club, Viktoria Berlin, Florida State University’s (FSU) Women’s Basketball program is the next flagship team to have joined forces with KINEXON and AWS, challenging the status quo for women athletes in professional and collegiate sports with cutting-edge sports technology – customized to women’s requirements.

Florida State Basketball (women's) is partnering with sports analytics company KINEXON for player tracking and data.

The Seminoles are on a run of nine consecutive winning seasons in the ACC. It’s a streak that reaches back to 2014. Now, FSU will be among the first to test and feedback new product features that have been developed to specify sports analytics and load management to the unique requirements of women.

Nicole Lowery is the Assistant Athletic Trainer for Florida State Women’s Basketball and is working with KINEXON to collect sports data from her players.

We are extremely excited to begin using KINEXON this season with Florida State Women’s Basketball. Our program made some dramatic changes in how we train and practice last year based mostly on experience and observation. Having data to help us make informative changes or to confirm the benefit of the things we have already been doing will only help enhance the performance and health of our players. Thanks to the team at KINEXON, we have been able to implement this technology seamlessly into the daily routine of our program and we feel fully supported in its use. We look forward to continuing this partnership between Florida State Women’s Basketball and KINEXON.

Recall: What Is the Continuing Objective of This Movement and Which Role Does FSU Play?

The Florida State women's basketball team is one of hundreds that are using KINEXON sports analytics to improve their performance on the court.

KINEXON and AWS share a common goal to prioritize the needs of women athletes at the forefront. Empowering women to reach new heights as athletes begins with providing resources, technology, and analysis dedicated to women athletes.

As a flagship team, the Florida State women’s basketball program will collaborate closely with KINEXON’s sports science experts to extract and analyze data to maximize performance and provide insights into the development of women athletes.

To achieve this goal, KINEXON will closely examine performance trends related to women’s menstrual cycle and personal well-being and how training methods can be adapted based on the data findings.

Through countless hours of research and speaking with women’s sports professionals, KINEXON has developed the first cycle- and well-being-oriented load management dashboard, which provides individualized player load recommendations based on a daily questionnaire.

This might sound complex in theory at first, but in practice these unique and exclusive insights can be derived in five simple steps.

Why Is This Important?

With KINEXON and AWS pressing forward alongside the Seminoles women’s basketball program, Viktoria Berlin and many more women’s teams around the world, the motivation to level the playing field between women and men in sports tech will be on display.

About the Women's Sports Initiative at KINEXON

A large part of sports-scientific studies, hence, the foundation of sports-scientific training planning and sports technology, is based on men. Consequently, women and men are treated equally, despite specific demands often being blatantly obvious.

KINEXON and AWS challenge this status quo. Both companies are among the leading providers of live sports data analysis and are convinced teams have enormous potential, which they can realize through pointed, women-specific load management.
