Get More from UWB Localization Methods

UWB combines short light-speed impulses, precisely measuring signal arrival time over a wide bandwidth for high-precision transmitter positioning, reaching distances up to 250 meters when there is visual contact.

Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA)

The sensor emits signals which are received by anchors at different times, according to their distance. Sensor positions are calculated using time differences.

Advantage: Consumes the lowest energy

Application Scope: Real-time localization of assets on a large scale

Two-Way Ranging (TWR)

The anchors send UWB signals, which are returned by the sensors. The distance is calculated based on the pulse time between sending and receiving.

Advantage: Provides the highest precision and position stability

Application Scope: Real-time localization of workers, tools and navigation of driverless transport systems

Angle of Arrival (AoA)

Moving objects send UWB signals, and their position is calculated based on the angle of arrival, the direction of the signal relative to the anchor, and the signal strength.

Advantage: Achieves higher precision with less infrastructure.

Application Scope: Real-time localization of objects and assets with minimal infrastructure

Phase Difference of Arrival (PDoA)

In order to determine the sensor position, the phase difference between received signals at both anchor antennas is evaluated, and the angle of the signal is calculated relative to the anchor.

Advantage: can be implemented in restricted infrastructures

Application Scope: Real-time localization of workers, tools, and assets on a large scale
