Assembly Show Wrap Up

What a week it was at the 2022 Assembly Show! Our team spent the three-day event conversing with potential clients, as well as enjoying some amazing local food and drinks with the manufacturing community at the KINEXON Breakfast Morning Mingle. Read on to learn more from our VP of Sales IoT, Tinos Kountroubis, about his experience at the show.

5 Questions with Tinos Kountroubis

1. Tinos, what were your first impressions of the show after day 1?

As I walked around the show floor this year, I noticed the emergence of companies that are solely focused on helping companies launch their digitalization strategy. We are still seeing many companies struggling to get off the ground when it comes to implementing automation in their factories. At KINEXON, we offer the perfect partnership for companies looking to implement RTLS (Real-Time Location System) in their factories. Right from the start of the show, we experienced heavy interest in our booth, as they were eager to learn the exact role, we play in the automation sphere.

Additionally, companies would explain to me RTLS intrigues them, but they just don’t know where to start in their factory. This is when my team would take over and be your consultants at every step of the process as we would help you decide on the exact requirements for every application or use case. We displayed our Location-Based Process Automation (LPA) software, KINEXON OS, while we demonstrated the different stages of production flow that can be optimized with RTLS. This was a simple yet impactful way for potential customers to understand the transparency you gain.

2. What does it mean for the KINEXON team to be back at in-person events this year?

It’s been great! Nothing replaces the experience of seeing products up close and personal while being able to talk to someone in-person. You get answers right away and leave with an impression that makes you want to learn even more. I am thrilled to be back meeting potential customers where it’s the most impactful for them on the show floor.

I want companies to remember the ease with which LPA can provide impactful benefits such as real-time transparency over their processes and assets, eliminating costly search times or downtimes. A great starting point are some small, simple applications, like search & find or track and trace.

3. From what you heard at the Assembly show what are some of the key challenges that manufacturers are facing today?

That’s a great question. First, I would say supply chain constraints and labor shortages are still being felt across a variety of industries, heightening the already high strain on companies’ bottom lines. These supply chain challenges directly impact a company’s ability to maintain a high level of productivity and quality control to avoid delays, downtimes, or recalls. For labor shortages, there is a high priority to be more efficient and reduce manual steps in production processes. This is why we aim to educate manufacturers on the benefits of LPA, which can help overcome both challenges and so much more.

4. What do you hope manufacturers remember about location technology that can help them with their digitalization plans right away?

For me, I want companies to remember the ease with which LPA can provide impactful benefits such as real-time transparency over their processes and assets, eliminating costly search times or downtimes. A great starting point are some small, simple applications, like search & find or track and trace. This gives them full visibility, all the way through their complex production processes. They won’t lose sight of assets, and this pre-empts many issues. They can then scale to more elaborate solutions like Automated Order Tracking and Process Management, or Container Management.

5. What are your biggest takeaways from the show this year?

Building off that point, the one area that has grown constantly on the show floor, is the dominance of AMR & AGVs and their endless abilities.
Typically, companies integrate multiple types of vehicles, because each mobile robot and vendor is different. This can become very costly because the number of AGVs/AMRs continues to grow. At KINEXON, we address this challenge with our fleet management solution. It acts as a software layer, that connects all vehicles on your shopfloor regardless of the manufacturer you choose with your operational IT systems, such as ERP software and warehouse management systems. To wrap up my last takeaway, I would say that we are getting close to Industry 5.0 but we are not quite there yet. Companies are still struggling to navigate the complexities of automation and IIoT technologies across their production processes. That’s why our team at KINEXON is ready to help them drive production and efficiency gains through Location-based Process Automation.

It’s a make-or-miss league.” This commonly heard phrase, repeated by coaches, players, and analysts worldwide, encapsulates the simple truth about basketball: if your shots go in, your team wins, and if they don’t, you lose. After countless hours of scouting, scheming, and statistical analysis, all the hard work only pays off if the ball goes through the basket.

With KINEXON’s new shot tracking solution, we’re here to optimize your shooting drills and routines, ensuring your players are physically prepared to execute in the moments the game will be decided.

As a basketball coach, you already know how vital the stat sheet is for you, your athletes, and the coaching staff. This might include box score stats such as rebounds, assists, and fouls. But most importantly, everyone is traditionally tracking shot statistics – points scored, 2‑point vs. 3‑point shots, makes vs. misses. Considering how shot statistics are tracked, what if you could capture and analyze the data without needing a wearable device or recording by hand?
